In 1603, King Henry IV of France commissioned Sieur Pierre Du Gua de Monts as lieutenant general of Acadia. By 1604, Sieur Pierre Du Gua de Monts and Samuel de Champlain has set to travel from France in search to start for a colony in the New World as they would call it (CBC - The Acadians- Timeline 1).
There were many problems that pushed or forced the French to migrate to Acadia. It has been said that the French Government offered the people free land and other things to those that immigrated as they tried to get comfortable in their new home. Some moved because they thought it was finally a chance for them to start a new life, while the rivalry between Great Britain and France also the war that could have affected the citizens if they didn't get out of there in time (Ethno-Cultural and Aboriginal Groups - Acadians 1).
